Career Badger ("we", "our", "the app") is an AI-powered career co-pilot that helps users build and improve their CVs. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

• Account information: When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address.
• CV data: Information you provide during conversations to build your CV, including work experience, education, and contact details.
• Chat messages: The messages you send within the app to interact with the AI assistant. These messages are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI API for processing.
• Uploaded documents: CVs or other documents you upload for review. CV content is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI API for analysis.
• Career objectives: The career goals you select during onboarding, used to personalise AI-generated CV feedback.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide personalised CV building and review assistance.
• To maintain your conversation history so you can continue where you left off.
• To authenticate your account and keep it secure.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. AI Data Processing

Career Badger uses Anthropic's Claude AI API to provide AI-powered CV review and improvement suggestions. Before accessing AI features, you will be asked to provide explicit in-app consent. The following data is sent to Anthropic for processing:

• CV content: Your work experience, education, professional summary, and contact details.
• Career objectives: The career goals you provide during onboarding.
• Chat messages: Messages you send to the AI assistant within the app.

This data is sent to Anthropic solely for the purpose of generating personalised CV feedback and career advice. Anthropic does not retain your data beyond the duration of the API request session. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train its models. For more information, see Anthropic's Privacy Policy.

4. Third-Party Services

• Supabase: We use Supabase for authentication and to securely process AI requests. Supabase Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic (Claude AI): Your chat messages are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. Messages are processed in accordance with Anthropic's Privacy Policy. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train its models.
• Apple / Google Sign In: Authentication is handled by Apple or Google. We only receive the name and email you authorise.

5. Data Storage

Your CV data and chat history are stored locally on your device using secure on-device storage. Account information is stored securely via Supabase. We do not store your chat messages or CV data on our servers beyond what is needed to process your current request.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained on your device until you sign out or delete the app. Signing out removes all locally stored data. You can delete your account and all associated data directly from within the app via Settings → Delete Account.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request deletion of your data by signing out of the app or contacting us.
• Withdraw consent at any time by discontinuing use of the app.

8. Children's Privacy

Career Badger is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
